 Hub Maintenance
We're going to be updating the server that runs our hub IRCd at 8:30am GMT on Feb 5th. This will be a very complete update, as we'll not only be updating the IRCd software, but also Anope and the OS on the server itself.
Unfortunately, this means that the server will need to be restarted in order to fully switch to all the updated components. In order to avoid having all the IRCds unlinked for an extended period of time, we'll be moving our client servers to a new hub for an hour or two while the updates are being performed. Services will be moved as well.
So, for you, this means that you will see a short netsplit as each server is disconnected and reconnected. Services will also be down very shortly as their data is transferred, when they're back up however, there should be no change. Then, when the updating process is finished, everything will be moved back to the main hub.
This update will not provide any outwardly noticeable changes in functionality, but should help ensure stability and security. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please /join #help and ask any of our staff.
